Happy Tibetan Losar!

Wishing everyone a very Happy Tibetan New Year! As we celebrate Losar week, I extend my sincere greetings and best wishes to you all. May this year bring peace to the world, and may all our actions be guided by love and compassion.

Losar has never been the same since I escaped from Tibet. It has been more than 23 years since I last celebrated our New Year with my family. Yet, I still hold onto the hope of a reunion—to once again smell the incense of home and feel the true spirit of celebration. Stand with Tibet. May the day soon come that leads us back to our rightful homeland.

Your support matters.

The grandeur of the great America is undeniable,
Yet, all I see are the sky lifting skyscrapers
Path paved with cold, hard stone mask,
Steel capped beast carry the crowds
Moving in sync like a mechanized flock,

In contrast my homeland may be small and impoverished,
Its open spaces stretch like boundless seas,
The roads are soft grassland, like the gentlest wool
Our travels are guided by dragon like horses
And we walk with pride, bold as the soaring vulture.
